SWITZERLAND

SWITZERLAND

MakeS you wish you could ski and if you can, you stay.

"I walked most all of Geneva. Took a boat ride around the lake. Everything seemed perfect. Maybe that was the problem. I wanted some soul, some real, something! But no, this was Pleasantville, well manicured and well mannered. I look up at Mont Blanc in the distance. What a glorious mountain, best skiing in the world they say. I wouldn't know, I can't ski. Maybe that's where the action is, because it's not in Geneva."

CITIES VISITED:

MUST DO:

FAVORITE MEMORY:

Geneva
Boat ride on Lake Geneva.
See the Geneva Water Fountain.
Jump into the lake at the Bains des Pâquis for a refreshing swim.
Having the Swiss Raclette melted cheese dish at a famous local joint and the waiter telling me he had served the same thing to President Clinton who requested "extra cheese like he was ordering a pizza."

DIFFICULTY TO VISIT RATING:

1/5  EASY

Very walkable, nice airport.

Wintertime vibes and skiing seem to be the more popular pastimes in Switzerland, both things I tend to avoid when traveling. So it was not curated to be high on my list. Couple this with a sort of vanilla feeling in the city and I was content with a short trip. If you like to ski then get here fast. In the summer, a weekend does the trick.
