SLOVAKIA

Just a day trip to Braitslava on a whim was worth the time.

"It was an easy train ride from Vienna, doable in a half day. Why not count another country and see a capital? I bolted off the platform and into the town. There was a castle, some nice eateries and a model looking European old city center. But then I saw him staring at me. Weird looking guy in the ground. Who was it? What was it? It was Cumil the Sewer Worker, an infamous bronze statue and the reluctant pride of Bratislava!"

CITIES VISITED:

MUST DO:

FAVORITE MEMORY:

Bratislava
Eat outside and then take a picture with Cumil the Sewer Worker.
A local telling me that Cumil the Sewer Worker was definitely a peeping Tom.

DIFFICULTY TO VISIT RATING:

1/5  EASY

Very walkable and accessible by rail.

Just there for half a day so won't pretend to be an expert. Well worth the effort if you have a free day in Vienna. The major historical sites are most compact together so you don't need much planning. Just arrive and walk.
