"Her years in Colombia, in fact, defined so much of her. They planted the seed for a life that refused to be held back and always moved forward, full of faith without fear."
--Look For Me There, Chapter 7

DIFFICULTY TO VISIT RATING:

2/5  MODERATE

Ample flights from the USA to major cities. Tourist infrastructure vastly improved over the years. Great hotels. Keep tabs regarding political climate on the ground.

The narco state image long pushed by Hollywood and the media has thankfully given way to a booming tourist sector. It's easy to see why, Colombia, bordering two oceans and home to some Andean mountains, lush jungles and vibrant cities, can accommodate any type of traveler. The empanadas are also the best in the world.
