DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Fields of dreams with a few beaches in-between

"The Campo de Beisbol in Bayahibe is my favorite ball field in the entire world. Its elementariness, two covered dugouts, bleachers behind home plate, shaded by trees and an outfield that opens up to the Caribbean Sea, reflect a design perfectly situated to its surroundings. For kids chasing a dream, I could think of no better place to start. I imagined what it would be like to man right field, to look over your shoulder and see that brilliant teal ocean, the sounds of the waves lapping, perhaps thinking if it was possible for somebody to hit a massive home run into the surf. To be a kid, playing baseball, in that environment, had to be heavenly."
