PARAGUAY

So much still undiscovered, go find it while you still can!

"Templo de San Buenaventura, in its own way, just might upstage the Sistine Chapel. It’s that beautiful. The full room is intricate wood carvings: the altar, confessionals, pulpits, and even the ceiling. Up, down, and side to side, carved faces and artistic designs emerge from the wood. They are everywhere, on the support beams and windowsills. Brilliant gold angels are suspended next to the altar, with blue pillars in wraparound gold trim."

DIFFICULTY TO VISIT RATING:

2/5  MODEREATE

Paraguay is a long haul from the U.S. There's also very little tourist infrastructure. But that makes it appealing, especially for those seeking adventure. Make your own adventure, there's very little in the way of what's curated for you.

Paraguay is the type of place where you want to get lost. Just pick a spot a drive. There's an appealing vastness to it, uninhibited and unencumbered in many areas.
